In order to honor and protect authentic design, we must honor and protect the education and experience of young designers. Be Original Americas’ Student Fellowship is a critical program that not only offers students unprecedented access to understanding the process of design, manufacturing, export, marketing and sales from established global players, but reinforces the long-term impact of education – for both the student and the “teacher”.

As a long-standing member of Be Original Americas, Carl Hansen & Søn is committed to educating both the design community and consumers on the importance of authentic design. This year, we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the CH24 Wishbone Chair, designed by Hans J. Wegner exclusively for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1950; as an icon that has been in continuous production with us since then, it’s a symbol of Danish design heritage, craftsmanship and authenticity.

Limited edition Soft Colors Wishbone Chairs

We have a responsibility to actively support the education of young designers; as one of the most significant ways we’re celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Wishbone Chair in the United States, Carl Hansen & Søn has released a Limited Edition collection, called Soft Colors, in partnership with Be Original Americas. A portion of proceeds from all sales of the Limited Edition chairs directly benefits the Student Fellowship Program for 2021.
